Childhood Obesity and the Lap Band:
The Lap Band is currently only FDA approved in the United Stated for the ages of 18 and above. There are special investigational trials at select large pediatric centers to investigate the lap band in obese children under the age of 18.
In countries such as Mexico or Austrailia there is no FDA to regulate the age criteria. |
